My alma mater, Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego California, commissioned me to create artwork for one of their dorms, Wiley Hall. I chose to re-create Jazz records from the late 60s and reinterpret them as the sights, sounds, colors and textures based on the University's location of sitting right on the Pacific Ocean. Each piece is mounted on plywood and vary in size.
Record Player (above). Located in the lobby of the dorm was a record player with speakers to each side. If students were to look closely, they will be able to decipher the secret code located on the record player.
Artwork (below). Scattered throughout the dorm in various lobbies and study looks lies the artwork. Each piece has a "not so secret" code for them to decipher, if they pay close enough attention!
